Finally all the money from out Can’t Stop the Serenity Screen has now gone to the various charities

First off a group of Browncoats (Amy, Wendy, Julie, Lucy, Chris and Simon (me), went to London to see Equality Now on 24th August.  I thought instead of it just being myself handing over a Cheque, that it would be nice for some Browncoats to meet and speak to Equality Now.

We were welcomed by three lovely ladies who head up the London Office.  The ladies were eager to meet some Browncoats after all the hard work we have been doing these past 6 years.  While we were there they gave us more of an insight to what Equality Now is currently doing and the struggles it has when trying to change legislations.  All in all it was lovely to meet them and we hope this will be the first of many meet ups.  Oh and before we left we made sure that we look this picture of the cheque being handed over:

Second cheque to be given to charity was one to The Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) which happened on 11th September (later than originally planned).  Unfortunately due to the change if dates other Browncoats weren’t able to join me for this one.  As I already know the people who volunteer at the Tewkesbury Station and of the works they do (due to my previous commitment as a volunteer with them) they just gave me an update to where they were at with the station…..and I must tell you they have some fantastic news coming up, unfortunately I’ve been sworn to secrecy so you’ll just have to keep an eye out on the local media in the coming weeks.

Before they all took off on their weekly training session on the river we had the below photo taken together.  In the photo you can see the rescue Landrover 110 and one of their training boats, the tin can as its known among SARA.

All in all we made £670.00 of which £502.50 went to Equality Now and £167.50 went to The Severn Area Rescue Association in Tewkesbury.

Please keep an eye on the site as I have some more news for you all.   I shall put up a post with it in the next day or two.

In the mean time stay shiny and keep on flying
